This month we’re holding a summer membership drive and we’re looking to recruit 500 new “muckrakers” who will commit to a $2 monthly donation to The Utah Investigative Journalism Project.
We’re looking to build up grassroots support from you, our valued readers, and if only a fraction of the people who read our stories chipped in a couple bucks a month it would be a huge boost to our efforts!
Of course larger monthly donations are also welcome, and can easily be arranged by the click of a button through the PayPal link on our site that you can find HERE.
You don’t even need a PayPal account to donate–after you click on the PayPal button just selection the option to pay with a debit or credit card.
We are still the only nonprofit dedicated to making sure investigative journalism doesn’t go extinct in Utah. We don’t run stories every day, because the stories we develop take time to dig up–whether that’s chronicling years worth of special education civil rights complaints in Utah schools, recovering the hidden revelations of The Knights of the Crystal Blade or reporting on how the hot housing market has brought with it an Eviction Boom. We’re also busy conducting free investigative trainings for local newsrooms and student journalists to help other organizations tell the important stories our communities need to hear.
Becoming a monthly donor means you will be given special invitations to future events we’ll be hosting. Most importantly it will mean you believe in and support our mission. For the price of a cup of coffee or a donut, you can make a meaningful investment in this important work.
Plus we think you’ll agree its a worthwhile investment, after you see some of the stories we’re rolling out this July–stories that have been under development for months.
